Jeff is founder and moderator for the bi-monthly Free Film Series at the Monroe Township Public Library in Williamstown, New Jersey. All screenings are free to the public, for anyone at least 18 years-old.
The next film screening is the Emmy award-winning documentary Dancing Outlaw (1991), and will be held on Monday — February 27 at 6:30PM
In January 2011, Jeff created the Film Series as an alternative cinema outlet in southern New Jersey, and as a way to give back to his hometown community through the art of film.
His work for the Free Film Series is 100% volunteer.
Each film is an independent, non-mainstream, or off-Hollywood production. Most are not available through Netflix. All screenings are meant to spark discussion. Members and non-members of the library are all invited to experience the joy of watching and discussing a film.
Jeff organizes all screenings, selects all films, introduces all films, writes/distributes audience handout information, leads post-screening discussions, creates promo flyers, locally promotes each film, and acts as liaison between film producers/distribution companies and the library, for negotiating permissions and screening fees.
